Our kids have just started back at school! As wish them all the very best for the 2014 academic year, listen to what our Ugandan Director, Joshua, had to say: "My dear sisters, I am happy to let you know that our kids have started their first term at school and school fees has been paid into the different schools so you will soon get the payment receipts. But what made this school term special is the way how our male parents have come up to be involved in their kids lives. As a child I was greatly affected missing a father figure in my life. I hated all conversations that involved fathers, so I know what it means for a kid to grow up knowing he or she has a father but the father is not caring. So as I took up the responsibility of running Kids First, I have always wanted to see that those kids who have fathers, that the fathers are involved in their kid's lives. I have meet some of them a number of times or called them to inform them on the progress of their kids, although it did not make sense to them. But thank God He his answering my prayers: I have seen them slowly getting involved in their kid's lives. For the first time Moses' dad took him to school; Pauline's dad committed himself to paying her daughter's national examination fees. Wow God is so good. Thanks a lot for praying for this project, because as a person I could not achieve this. Uganda is one of the countries with so many fatherless families and we all know the results of this, so lets pray that as a project God can use us to see that we change this trend."
