We love visitors! And early this month we were blessed to be visited by Kara from America, who was out in Uganda for her husband's work. She had heard about Kids First from Mary's work in Michigan selling our mothers' crafts. Our mothers put on a great show and were able to show and sell some of their amazing craft work. We were also blessed to receive gifts from Kara, including t-shirts, stationery items, and a box of dried cherries! Yum! Check out the photos below of Kara's visit. If you would like to visit Kids First in Uganda, please send us a message.

We are so very blessed to have Joshua working with us at Kids First. He has recently held an AGM of sorts to catch up with mothers involved, hear their ideas and concerns, and plan the way ahead for Kids First in 2014. I don't want to steal his thunder ahead of him releasing the end of year report, but some of the news from our mothers was so exciting it has to be told!
On speaking about the benefits of craft making and selling, one woman has told us that with the money made from this she has been able to send one of her orphaned grandchildren to school! (This is without any other sponsorship from Kids First). Another has invested her money into growing maize and is hoping to harvest 800kg come harvest time!! Some photos of the the day are below. |
