This Christmas our Kids First family has been hugely blessed to receive an amazing gift of Bibles! 200 Bibles!! Lugandan and English translations, for adults and children! This gift has come from Mary and the generous women in her Bible study group, who felt it on their hearts to raise money in order to give our women and children access to the very Word of God. Many people in Western countries don't realise the significance of such gifts, when Bibles are so easily found, and so easily disregarded. For our women and children this gift is life-giving and life-changing, and as one of our grandmothers in the group said "this is the best gift I have even been given".
Too often the Bible is disregarded by believers and non-believers alike. We fail to really get into it, explore and investigate it, and let it's words sink into us, teach us, and change us. Whether or not you would class yourself as a Christian, I would challenge you to reading a chapter or two today - afterall, without Christ there would not be Christmas. And shouldn't we all be aware of the background to the traditions around us? Who knows - you may find the same joy that is written all over the faces of our women and children in the photographs below.
God bless you all, Michigan ladies! God bless our women and children as they start to read these words perhaps for the very first time. And God bless all of you - our readers, supports, and sponsors - this Christmas!
